poems, pictures, and videos

I write poems because words are cool. Sometimes they come together in ways you don’t expect but say what you’re feeling better than any strictly rational evocation could possibly imagine. Besides, I dig poets. My older sister, Patti, was a poet. She inspired me. By the time I took a high-school Lit class, I was hooked. E.e. cummings, Mary Oliver, William Carlos Williams, Howard Nemerov, Langston Hughes, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Gary Snyder, and so many others still rock my world. I have a lot of political, wildly nonsensical, humorous, and even angry poems, but the ones I’m posting here (at least for now) are mostly about seeking peace, spreading love, and healing our dysfunctional environmental relations.
